Rebuild Your Confidence Refresh Your Skills Return to Practice with Certainty 3 Module Hands-On Training – Cohort 1 2027
Introduction
Whether you’re returning to dentistry after a career break, finding your feet in the NHS for the first time, or simply wanting to rebuild your confidence at the chair — this programme was created with you in mind. Over three practical, hands-on modules delivered in a state-of-the-art phantom head laboratory, you’ll refresh and sharpen the clinical skills that matter most in everyday NHS practice: tooth preparation, temporisation, cementation, composite and amalgam techniques. There’s no judgement, no pressure — just expert supervision, a supportive learning environment, and the chance to rediscover what you’re capable of.
Each module is structured around active participation, with minimal lecture-based teaching. Participants will spend the majority of their time performing procedures under expert supervision, ensuring skills gained are immediately applicable to clinical practice.
Overall Course Aims
- Refresh and enhance practical skills in tooth preparation for indirect restorations
- Introduce modern dental materials and their clinical applications
- Develop understanding of material-specific preparation techniques
Overall Course Objectives
By the end of this module, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate accurate tooth preparation for full and partial coverage restorations
- Identify indications and contraindications for indirect restorations
- Understand properties of materials such as lithium disilicate, zirconia, and hybrid ceramics
- Perform material-specific tooth reductions following evidence-based guidelines
- Recognise and avoid common preparation errors
- Understand effective laboratory communication and clinical relevanceKey Course Feature

This programme is hands-on only, with a strong emphasis on practical skill development. Participants will be actively engaged throughout, ensuring a highly immersive and clinically relevant learning experience.

- MODULE 1 – Friday 7th May 2027: Clinical Skills in Indirect Restorations – Preparation Techniques and Material Selection (Hands-on Training)
- MODULE 2 – Friday 28th May 2027: Temporisation and Luting – Techniques for Indirect Restorations (Hands-on Training)
- MODULE 3 – Thursday 24th June 2027: Contemporary Direct Restorative Techniques – Composite and Amalgam (Hands-on Training)
