New: 3 Day Minor Oral Surgery (Dentistry) – Institute of Medical Aesthetics Dubai (21st to 23rd April 2018)
Conducted by King’s College London, the No. 1 Dentistry University in Europe (QS World University Ranking 2017) and in partnership with Institute of Medical Aesthetics, this 3-day minor oral surgery course is an unprecedented opportunity for General Dental Practitioners to undergo a high intensity, world-class clinical update by a UK faculty in Dubai.
The program is intended to provide 20 professionals the chance to understand the principles and techniques involved in Minor Oral Surgical procedures including soft tissue handling, surgical extractions, wisdom teeth removal, radicular surgery, socket preservation, bone grafting, suturing and management of complications.
The course will include a unique full day of hands-on cadaver tissue work as the third day, at the Sharjah University Surgical Center. Delegates will receive 2 certificates. 1 jointly provided from King’s College London/IMA and a 2nd certificate for CPD from Sharjah University. The course represents 21 hrs of CPD.
Learning outcomes include:
- To assess the patients before Minor Oral surgical procedures
- To be able to perform surgical extractions & wisdom teeth removal
- To be able to help the patients with socket preservation after extractions
- To be able to gently manipulate the soft tissues during the MOS procedures
- To apply the knowledge in managing complications during the MOS procedures
To improve the understanding of medical, clinical & radiographic assessment of patients for minor oral surgical procedures. To increase the knowledge for extractions, surgical removal of impacted teeth and other minor oral surgical procedures.
To understand the complications which one can encounter during the MOS procedures and learn how to avoid them. To learn the techniques involved in socket preservation, radicular surgery, soft tissue management and understand the delivery of post-operative care after the MOS procedures.
A full human cadaver hands-on day to enhance the understanding about flap design, suturing and bone removal. To provide an opportunity to practice socket preservation, soft tissue procedures and complications management on cadaver specimens.

Dr Kashif Hafeez has been privileged with Membership and Fellowship from Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland and was honoured with Fellowship from Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. He has completed his post graduate certificate in Medical and Dental education from Oxford Brookes University. He has special interest in Oral Surgery and Dental Implantology and has been practising in the picturesque Cotswold. He has been a post graduate Dental Foundation trainer for Oxford Deanery and has been fulfilling his duties currently as an Examiner for Royal College of Surgeons Ireland & Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. He acts as an expert & advisor to the General Dental Council UK. He teaches Oral surgery and Implantology at the Masters programme of BPP University, UK and lectures nationally and internationally on Oral surgery & Dental Implantology, he has been presenting his scientific work at various international conferences. In addition, he serves as Editorial Board member for Porodental CPD and a visiting Oral surgery Professor in Pakistan. He has a number of international publications. In 2013, he was honoured with the Dentist of the year award by APPS UK.
