Legal and Ethical Issues: 2 Hours
By the end of this seminar you will be able to:
1. Appreciate dental-related ethical principles and dilemmas
2. Fathom the GDC’s expectations of dental registrants
3. Understand the legislation relating to NHS dentistry and any recent changes
4. Know how dentistry is regulated in the UK
Complaints Handling: 2 Hours
By the end of this seminar you will be able to:
1. Appreciate what drives patient to complain
2. Interpret the NHS Complaints Procedure and GDC standards relating to complaints
3. Better manage patient complaints
4. Know how to prevent complaints from arising and how to insulate yourself with communication skills
Oral Cancer: Early Detection: 2 Hours
By the end of this seminar you will be able to:
1. Understand the incidence, and pathology of oral cancer
2. Interpret the signs and symptoms of oral cancer
3. Carry out a thorough Oral Cancer screen
4. Know when and how to refer
