Introduction
This GDC recommended ½ Day course is a combination of hands on and interactive learning, demonstrating and reinforcing best practices of Decontamination and Infection Control in General Dental Practice.
The course takes place in LonDEC’s dedicated Decontamination training suite. It starts with an introduction to HTM 01-05 and includes an outlining of essential and best practice recommendations.
Using a Hands-on approach, Participants will follow the recommended compliant decontamination process. This is from dental chair/surgery through to cleaning, inspection, pouching, sterilising & the storage of instruments.
Along with current regulations and recommendations that support equipment compliance; delegates will have the opportunity to discuss risk assessment and monitoring within their Practice. This will also give individuals greater understanding of what to do if equipment fails or to identify causes of quality test anomalies.
Selected workstations within the session will be used for tutor feedback to dispel current ineffective practice and review participant’s skills.
