Making an Impression (29/06/19)
This one day course aims to provide delegates the confidence to safely carry out dental impressions using alginate material to the prescription of a Dentist or CDT.
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Identify the legal and ethical issues that could arise when taking an impression: Consent
- Listing the importance of taking a good Medical History
- Demonstrate and acknowledge the principles of taking a good impression: Tray selection
- Describe the significance of disinfecting the impressions
The course will take place at LonDEC world class training centre.
In the AM session students will be inducted with a series of presentation slides, consisting of theory and resources. This will provide the student the foundations of carrying out the practical in the PM session.
The PM session will consist of practical activities. Students will have the opportunity to rehearse skills that will demonstrate their ability to safely prepare, carryout and dispatch an impression to the dental laboratory.

Each participant will receive comprehensive course notes, a certificate of completion from LonDEC and 6 hours verifiable CPD.
Course is inclusive of refreshments and light buffet lunch.
