3 Day Aesthetic & Restorative Masterclass (09/08/19)
3 Day Restorative Dentistry Course – a must for any up-to-date practitioner.
Day 1: Managing tooth shape for smile design. Impressioning & provisionalisation
A packed all-day programme which includes techniques of assessing and improving tooth width and shape, selecting the incisal position for best aesthetics, restorative techniques as well as effective management of diastema cases.
On the day, delegates will have the opportunity to practise digital shade taking and use of colour corrected lighting. This will help participants to expand their treatment options regarding changes of colour and shape of teeth in a predictable way.
Techniques cover the use of tools for prescribing highly aesthetic and effective diagnostic wax-ups plus how to communicate this effectively to the dental laboratory and effectively use the information to assist your patient in understating the improvements that may be possible.
The practical session will also include impression making techniques. Delegates will use provisional materials to learn a chairside technique for producing highly aesthetic small or large span provisional restorations.
Participants will cut a tooth preparation that will be scanned for them so they can analyse their own preparation on screen later in the course.
Day 2: Direct and Indirect Veneers
Predominantly practical exercises all day commencing with direct composite veneers. This includes carrying out trial build-ups and aesthetic mock-ups before committing your patient or yourself to treatment.
The afternoon practical session will be based on advanced multiple anterior veneer concepts. Delegates will be taught protocols applicable to the provision of predictable tooth veneer preparations and outcomes.
Day 3: Aesthetic Indirect Restorations
Progressing from Day 2’s partial tooth preparation this day will again be predominantly practical but will include a seminar to reinforce some of the earlier learning of impression techniques and on the choice of aesthetic materials for indirect restorations and preparation design.
In the practical sessions participants will cut full coverage anterior all ceramic tooth preparations as well as partial and full cover posterior tooth preparations.
The previously scanned prep from day 1 will be assessed by delegates using the latest 3D CAD teaching software and hardware.
Registration is at 9:15am and the course starts at 9:30am. Expected finish time is 4:30pm.
The course takes place at LonDEC. Please see https://www.londec.co.uk/directions/
